Cosmetic Procedures
Oral & Facial Surgery Associates also offer cosmetic procedures that are non-surgical. Both Dr. Gardner and Dr. Pathak perform cosmetic Botox® and Restylane® procedures in our state-of-the-art facility.
What is Restylane®?
Restylane® is an injectable filler that can help plump the skin to fill out creases and lines. Restylane® is safe, temporary, and a non-animal form of hyaluronic acid gel, a naturally-occurring substance that binds water to cells. The new hyaluronic acid-based substance Restylane® has been widely and effectively used in the United States, Canada and Europe.
Are there any side effects?
Restylane® has minimal side effects. The most common is slight bruising. There may be a little swelling after the needle is injected, these symptoms disappear within a day or two. These side effects occur in less than 20% of patients. The results of Restylane® treatments are noticeable immediately.

What is Botox®?
Botox® is the product name of botulinum toxin in the cosmetic form. The toxin blocks the nerve impulses, temporarily paralyzing the muscles that cause wrinkles while giving the skin a smoother, more refreshed appearance. You will notice results within 48 hours.
What are the differences between Botox® and Restylane®?
There is a synergistic relationship between Botox® and wrinkle fillers such as Restylane®. Restricting muscle activity with Botox®, and filling wrinkles with Restylane®, the effects achieved will last longer. Hand-in-hand they are ideal companion treatments as each boosts the effect of the other.
